The addition of two figures walking against the blustery wind add further interest to the foreground and remind me of my many enjoyable walks on this beautiful beach

The original painting was inspired by a photograph taken at Whiterocks beach (permission kindly granted by my friend Colin McAlister) but this scene could be anywhere along the beautiful North Antrim coastline

they are universally recognised as emblems of happiness

I often remark on how the sun always seems to hit the beach's sand dunes, even on the dullest of days which this one was. I wanted to capture the contrast between the dark moody sky and the golden light on the sand. I
