If you control Arcane Adaptation and the Aether Revolt card Metallic Mimic, with the same creature type chosen for both, then any creature you control will enter the battlefield with an additional +1/+1 counter on it
Compare that to Kess, Dissident Mage, who can only cast one instant/sorcery on your turn, or Dralnu, Lich Lord, who has to tap to give a spell flashback -- oh and that pesky drawback of straight-up dying if someone casts a Blasphemous Act
